HELLLOOOH!
time is flying by so fast! its so crazy how fast it is going all the days seem like one! each week just keeps getting better and better its fun i love it!
so sunday i was planning out our day and i kept thinking of this one street we need to go to but weve tracted it like 15 times  but all week i have been thinking about it. so i decided we should go there. and So last night i was kinda in a bad mood cause of my foot it was hurting and we had been tracting all day and had no success and elder eames was his normal self all happy and stuff so i wasnt to happy to be tracting again but one of the coolest things happend wehen we were tracting that street and it was one of the rich streets in Ladera and were like lets find a new investigator tonight and it was like 630 pm dark and so we had like 2 hours to find one and the first door we knock a 15 yr old boy answears and hes like you guys the mormon missionarires? and was so exited!! hes like come in come in and was like in a panic. hes like i have been waiting for you guys to come to me ive been praying for you guys. hes like i almost got baptized a year ago but i got scared and ive just been thinking i want to come back and then you guys showed up. he was about to cry and we shared a lesson with him and he started to tear up and was like what time is church sunday what time can you come back what can i do to come back i want to be a mormon i bleive everything the book of mormon says i love it. he was so exited to see us and learn it was amazing the spirit was so strong! and i kinda relised this mission isnt about me or anything and that i was taking my mission for grantie so it really streanghted my testimony and my purpose of a missionary. then we went to a part memember family that one family that we gave a blessing to a couple weeks ago and they let us in right away and talked with them and shared a message and the dad started to tear up and hes the one thats a member but his wife isnt and it was a great spirit and the wife loves us and wants to come back more and more its great. so many miracles!
we had a good thanksgiving we visted members and shared a message with them then the Sheppard family fed us at 2 they are the funniest family ever they just make fun of each other and joke non stop it reminded me of home it was so cool how they opend their home to us and treated us like family and they are so willing to make sure we are happy. then another family the Fliipazzos fed us later and there just an older couple but had there kids over he is an ex CIA agent 9kinda like chuck judge and bre) but better he would go in and kidnap missionaries out of countries to get them to sfaty and stuff and he worked for Pres Hinkley so he told us all these awesome stories and then his wife has a bad back so she asked for a blessing.so that was a really good experince then we just visted familes the rest of the night and ate tons of pie!!
there is a japanesse ;ady in our ward that cooked for us athentic japannesse food it was so good it was like tofu and all this stuff and bamboo shoot it was really good!
Oh yeah we met a farcee lady she doesnt speak english just farcee but were going to teach here some how we gave her books in farcee about the church and wanted to read them so this should be fun to see if we will be able to teach her haha its fun.
We have been having so many mircles just everyday things its the greatest experince to see them daily. i wish i could tell you all them. i hope all is well back home! i love you all so much and thanks for all you! i got that package yesterday thank you so much! i loved it and the chirstmas card and calender it looks really good! i will writre letters today so you will get them soon love you all thanks for the prays and support!

Hey so i went to the dr yesterday and i got another shot of cortezon he could barley give me the shot cause the needle wouldnt go in cause there is so much scar tissue in there and that could be causing alot of the pain but he wants me to get physical therapy and maybe this thing called topaz oblation look it up its topazinfo.com or net but it has a 80 percent chance of working and he has really high succes rate so im working with sister cook right now we have been talking and she is trying to figure out what to do. so yeah,
But other than that this week has been really good! last week for p-day we went to Darin and beths house a member and played catch phrase and made supcakes it was really fun. We have alot of investigators but no baptism dates anymore its really sad the adversary is working on them big time. but last night we picked up a new investogator his name is Fronz. he is from South Africa hes like 25 and super into the gospel he came to church with us and everthing. The family that was going to be baptised were just letting them cool down and just giving them time before we try to teach them again. The lady Gina were still working on she is getting closer to baptism her daughter joined us for pray the other night so that was a big thing. it was really cool to see. The little girl Emma is getting really close to baptism were going to try to set a date soon with her.
Its been raining so bad latley its so cold here well im cold all the time its been like in the 50's but rain and humity cold so yeah.
so that Marine guy kevin we went by him this week and of course he fed us tacos he tries to hate us but he cant. he looks like Kevin James from king of queens but a little skinner hes crazy but his wife is getting us christmas presents haha,
The other night tracting we had a lot of cool things happen the spirt was strong we got let in by one guy that Elder Eames was prompted to go by and then we were walking to another street and i could get this one house off of my mind so i said we need to go knock it and we did and this guy answeared and invited us back. Its amazing what the spirit can do for us when we listen.
WE have a dinner on thanksgiving just one so far but were trying to set up alot so we dont have to go tracting haha cause tracting on holiday is a bad idea haha. it will be a good day though hope you guys will have a good one.
Im going on a exchange with Elder Price tonight im exited then next week is Zone Conference and the 21st of dec we get to go the NEwport temple that will be amazing im really exited for that.! well i hope all well and take care love you guys so much!

Helloooh
This week was transfers we got transfer calls saturday night and im staying the the area im in now and ssame with my companion. He actualy got made district Leader so thats really cool. Transfers are every 6 weeks so im here in Las Flores for 6 more weeks at least. The past 2 weeks have been so crazy busy! We have 8 investigators well 7 now we had to drop one cause he just doesnt want to change and is content in life where he is at. But a little drama with the family that was going to get baptized this week. They cant get baptized anymore cause of some family reasons but havent shut the door on us yet they love the gospel and just cant enough but the family issue is a big one and they want to get baptized so hopeully soon they will be. were working on it. One of our investigators Gina had us over for thankgiving dinner they had it early and invited us to come with all there cousins and stuff it was really fun and was a good experince. We have basically taught her everything there is to teach her she is just i dont know why she wont get baptized already she loves the gospel and the Spirit is so so strong when we teach her its incredible its just a matter of time.
the primary progam was sunday and that is always the best sacrament and one of our new investigators  came to it cause here kids were in it and she stayed all 3 hours we got her as an investigator on thursday right after the the family said they cant be baptized its so amazing how the lord works we lost investgators but didnt get sad about it and the lord put this lady into our path and now were teaching her its amazing all the tender mercies you see as a missionary. When they told us they cant get baptized i was talking on the phone with them and my heart ached and i felt so bad cause you grow to love these people and want the best for them all want them to have the same happiness we have,
We have been so busy the ward here is amazing they love us here and help us out so much. they are starting to refere there friends and familes to us and everything cause we have built that trust with them. i feel like there are my normal ward family now. ive grown really close to them and stuff.
We hung christmas lights for that Marine guy it was alot of fun he is so hard headed but is actually a softy we just joke the whole time with that he needs to baptized and stuff she just says ive already been baptized but his wife wants him to come to church and i think she wants to come to she always cooks for us and stuff. its fun.
well everything is going good and i now know why the call this the Best 2 years. cause the past 2months have been the best times of my life and espeacily the past 4 weeks never been happiers. i love you all and will talk to you later

November 9, 2010

So i have been out almost 2 months now i have been in the field for a month now. it has gone by so fast at times!
This week we taught 17 lessons which is amazing. the lady who was about to get baptized backed down but we are still teaching her and trying to get another date set with her she just has alot of family issues going on. and wants her family to be invloved. its good though. Then we have been teaching a family and they are so ready to be baptized we set a date for the 27th and they asked if they could move it up cause the want to start now and stuff its fun to see the change in them the mom grew up jewish and loves our faith and she said its like the Jews are missing out on the best thing ever. Yesterday we committed them to live the word of wisdom cause the drink coffe and they are like done we have 12 days to be clean we will do it. They take our commitments and just do them right away. they are having us over for dinner tomorrow. and then we have another dinner after that. im getting fat cause of all this food we eat. like ive gained easily pounds and i cant workout in the morning cause of my foot and i have to the stretches for that. so yeah. but i got my shot friday it didnt hurt but now it hurts worse than ever it feels like i have broken it again or just had surgery. The dr wanted me to go get therapy but i cant here cause i dont have time and then he said surgery is always a good option cause its a quick fix and healinh process or i can just live with the shots and it will take 6 months to a year to heal with no treatment or surgery. so i have been really praying on what i should do. cause i want to be here so bad and were having amazing success here and the ward is amazing and i dont ever want to leave this area but sometimes i think i need to get treatment cause i cant run or bike very well cause of it and i have to walk slow so i feel like i cant give it my alll and that i can give more if my foot was just healed. so i will try to figure something out. so yeah anyways...people are like lineing up to feed us thanksgiving dinner its awesome Sis Stucki our investigator wants to feed us thanksgiving so we will have like 5 dinners. there is one lady Sis Smith who is like our mom out here she has us over once a week for dinner and takes care of us its awesome..
We went on spilts this week cause we had 2 apts at the same time and i took a 17 yr old out Connor and our apt fell through so we just went tracting and stuff i felt way bad he didnt get to teach, but yesterday during testimony meeting he got up and shared how he wants to go on a mission now cause he went out with me and stuff and it was really special to me to hear him say that just to know i influenced someones like to go on a mission the greatest thing a young man can. it makes my whole mission worth it!
Sunday i was able to stand in on a guy receving the Melcezdik preisthood he has been less active for like 15 years and now came back and he is amazing we teach them twice a week and they feed us lunch and everything they treat us so good and they have such strong spirts its an amazing experince.
the ward here is giving us referals all the time. at nights we basiacally are running lesson to lesson we are keeping really busy and its fun i love it here and love being a missionary. everyone here keeps telling us that we are the best missionaries they have had in this area for long a time and they have had alot of missionaries in this area so its fun to hear that all this work is payin off and blessing peoples lives.
Well i will send letters today hope all is well and im doing amazing!!! love you all and take care! miss you.

HELLLLLLOOOO!!!
So this week was amazing!! it flew by so fast! i think i am finally losing myself in the work! The people were teaching are doing great the area is just ready to hear the good word! So last wednesday we had a zone confrence in San Clemente which was beautful and Edler Zwick of the Seventy came with his wife. he is such an amazing guy. we got to meet him and talk with him he shared some amazing things this week like how to build our foundations and stuff like that. he said exactly what i needed to hear. He talked about how important it is to serve a mission and do everything you can do make it the most. i have alot of good stuff i will prob write in a letter home about it. But he talked and taught us for like 4 hours and it was the strongest spirit i have ever felt. he changed my mission. then we had a testimonty meeting with him and some of us got to share ours with him so i took the chance and did it it was a good experince.
So this week has been so good i havent had any hard morning and just been working hard and having a good attitude about all the work  out of the 7 days i maybe had one bad day but thats it. so all is good! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY haha its fun. i was looking back and ive been almost out 2 months now and i think to myself about the hard times were i thought i was misserable and stuff i think about it and i was happy i was the happiest i ever been i am so happy so to be here and dont want to leave this mission. it has changed my life so much and i have learned so much.
As Elder Zwick said "challnges are a good thing it means the lord is ready for you to grow, so ask for challenges so that you can grow so you can be with him in the last day."
So i have been doing really good! my foot has been a problem though im calling Sister Cook today to try and get that shot and see what i can do im doign everytthing i can but i think i need treatment and stuff. so yeah ill let you know when that happens.

So we have been teaching the Mciver family and they are loving it in fact we set a baptismal Date for them on the 27th and it was funny at the trunk or treat saturday he went up to the Bishop and told him that he is going to be baptized at the end of the month. So we have 3 bapstims this month if the other lady Gina keeps her date of next week she has been having doubts and stuff its hard but i think she will come through. Then we started to teach a 9 yrold girl Emma talk about hard. its hard to explain gods plan for us to a 9 yr old haha. but her mom is in active and wants her daughter to have the chance to be baptized so by the end of december we could have 4 bapstims that is really rare to see soits amazing to see all this work that is being done.
The ward here is amazing we had a fun trunk or treat saturday and they fed us like crazy! and ready for this the big news haha i weighed myslef the other day and i have ganied 15 pounds haha amazingness i was pretty shocked but it was funny.
we rode like 30 miles plus on our bikes since saturday my legs kill but its fun. It was 85 degress yesterday its so amazing here i love it.
Thanks for all the packeges i got them all and teh sweeters fir perfect thanks so much! and thanks for all the letters and everything.
I went on an exchange with the Zone Leaders they live up in a place called Cotta de Caza which ia gatted community and everryhouse is at least 20 mill if not more its amazing it was a good experince i learned alot from Elder Mazenra hes a good guy.  hope all is well at home and we get to play dodgeball today for district activty so that will be fun! im doing good and hope all is well at home love you all soo much take care and PLEASE KEEP WRITING!!!!

October 26, 2010

Hey this week has been amazing and rough at the same time. This week i learned how low Satan will go to get us. Its really sad how low he has to go to break us down. Hes working on me, tries everything i can feel it. He just attacks with thoughts of home like family stuff. Thursday i was on an exchange with elder Price and he helped me out he has been struggiling to, he was my mtc comp so it was funny 2 new elders out in a area not really knowing what were doing but it was so fun. He gave me a blessing to comfort me and we just talked it was good to be with someone that understands. its the mornings that are rough cause its early and im tierd and we dont do much we wake up at 6 exersice i just work on my foot. then we eat and study till 10 but once i get going i get better but in the morning i just wanna go home and im basically miserable but once i get going and start teaching people i get better and have a desire to be here its just hard at times, cause i just miss being with you guys and doing family stuff. i try to make the members my family and talk with them the ward is incredible here they help us out so much! and feed us all the time and sometimes even lunch. i eat anything now like i dont have any foods i dont like anymore i guess its just part of being a missionary. but sometimes i still wanna come home but i know i will regret it and stuff i wont come home. All your letters and packages make it so much better i like run to mailbox when we get home to see if anything came so thank you SOOO much for the packeges i got all 3 of them with everything. i know you guys have spent alot of time and money on them so really thank you for them it means alot and thats a nother reason i wont come is you guys have invested so much on me. so thank you!!! i got my insoles they work pretty good there really nice ones. so thanks for everything you guys send and say.

So we have alot of investigators we have that lady who is getting ready to be baptized but satan is working on her shes not sure about baptism in our church but she knows she has toget baptized somewhere. she came to church sunday which is huge. so we teach her like 3 times a week. Then we have an single mom who is like bible scholor and just has these huge questions but she  is starting to read the Book of Mormon. Then we were tracting and a older guy let us in and we just started to teach him yesterday and are going back again. Then theres  family were teaching and we had an FHE with them last night with a member family and it went really good they are progressing so good its fun to see the change in them.

I bet have knocked 200 plus doors and fianlly 1 let us in saturday it was the first time i have been let in haha. we get alot of doors slammed on us and angry people. but when you meet that one that will talk it makes it all worth it. we ran into a guy on the street and hes like im Atheist dont bother and we just started talking about life and he was way nice and hes like heres this for you and gave us like a pep talk and i was having a crappy day that day and it really brighten my day and after we got invited to a bbq by a nonmember family the dad is a marine and just hard headed hates the world but loves my comp and i and i guess he usally just scares the missionaries away but for some reason loves us even his wife was like i dont know what is going on he is never like this so we had a fun bbq with them.
I have been studying Hope and its pretty amazing hope is defined as putting are abiding trust in the lord. so think about it and see what happens when you put your whole trust in the lord and see what he can do for you. i have been trying this to help me get through this and its hard to put full hope and trust in him but it takes steps
Alma 7;23
Alma 34;41
DC88:3

All is well and im doing good just some days are rough but you guys are why i am here it was good to hear mal had her baby congrats that is cool she looked so cute and has grandmas name thats amazing! thanks for all you do for me it means so much and i promise i am doing good and just trying to get through this it takes time and patince. i love you all so much and miss you so much thanks again for the packeges it means so much!
oh and btw we have zone confrence tomorrow and Elder Zwick from the seventy is coming to meet us and talk to us it should be amazing!
thanks again and love you so much!

October 19, 2010

This week has been so good and so hard at the same time! so we have been teaching this lady named Gina Stucki and her husband is a member but inactive since college and very anti mormon and we got permission to teach her and she has no relgious background. she didnt even know about the the Garden of  Gestheme where christ paid for our sins. but she wouldnt let us teach her out of the book of mormon so we had to teach her out of the bible and we taught her since i got here so like 4 times then last tuesday we were teaching her and everything was going good we talked about christ and his baptism and the Gospel of Chist and shes looks up with this huge smile!!!! and was like i need to get baptized and i just felt like a child in a candy store i got so exited. Elder Eames is like easy Elder Smith and were like yeahh you do! but we dont want you to just run in to this amazing thing so the Member that was teaching with us was like Lets us come back thursday and we will teach you the Book Of Mormon and she agreed and it was great. so we went back and started talking about like the basics how we are gods childeren and like Nephi and how they got to the Americas and then i got this prompting to just go straight into the the First Vision so i just started talking about Jospeh and how needed to find a church and i set up my compaion so he could share the first vision which is so powerful and he shared and she started crying the spirit was so strong!! and she felt the spirit and it bore witness to her that it was true and she couldnt decribe the feeling but she loved it and so we commited her to be baptized on Nov 13th and were helping work towards that date. the  devil is working on her though thats what always happens as soon as they get that date is when it gets hard so we just pray that her husband will let her and her kids will support her. were trying to get the kids involved in the lessons and sometimes they do. but it will be a good experince.
But then the next day after this spirt high we were on the devil decides to work on me and try to get me not focus so i really struggled this weekend saturday was horrible and sunday was my breaking point i just felt so missierable i missed home i missed my old life cause before i came out her i had the perfect life i thought i had a job school scholorships for baseball never been closer to my family and i really missed all that but i just read the scriptures and prayed harder than ever and talked to Elder Eames and he helped and the Atonement is so real no matter what your going through! its the most amazing thing ever it brings so much peace! really try to relay on the Atonement it is for all saddnes and pain and even JOY. were teaching a husband and wife that just got baptized before i got her and he was struggleing with some stuff he cant forgive himself of his past and so i told him to pray for joy thats what the atonement is for and you will come to forgive yourself and i didnt know i made an impact on him till last night when i came home from doing and Exchange is Edler Nelson ( tell you more later) Elder eames was like you helped out Darin so much i guess he was about to relaspe the other night with pain killers and he remember some words i said to him that he has to pray always for joy and it help and so he did and he put the pills down and didnt do it. so its amazing the affect we have on people and you dont even know it.
So yesterday and sunday we did an exchange i went to another area for a day and another elder came to my area it was really fun to see the othersides of missionary work how each missionary has there own style it was a good experince. and tomorrow i get to go on another with Elder Price my comp from the MTC i cant wait we have so much fun. and today for our District activty were playing dodgeball so that will be so fun!
The ward here is so AMAZING!.. they feed us like rockstars for real they feed us like fillet mijon sometimes or mahi mahi but sometimes is pizza or chicken but its always amazing. and sometimes we get lunch to! k so whos sister feed me lunch? sister jenkins or ellis? and what is there name? so i know haha.
we have another family were teaching and there progressing were hoping to get the baptized before december there kinda slow but so into the gospel and we did yard work for them saturday and they feed us pizza and stuff after people love the missionaries here. we run into army and mariens here and they say what we do is harder than what they do cause we get rejection 98 percent of the time if not more. and that is hard to get doors slammed literally in your face but its all good you just have to keep moving right? cause one day some one will be ready for us and will welcome us in.
My foot is alright somedays it kills and cant walk but then i feel the prays from you guys and i get the strength to keep going! without prayers i would be so dead tierd but some how we have unlimted strength its amazing.
The hardest thing is talking to people who have read the Book of mormon and deny it i just dont get how you could say its not true its just i dont know hard to see people reject it.
Yeah i think im getting your letter from dear elder i love letters they bring so much joy and happiness you have no idea how much they mean.
This one baptist guy loves us he is an old guy and he gives the missionaries pens he makes so he gave me one and it was fun to see his smile when we come around. and the best is the kids in ward look up to us so much! they always yell MISSIONARIES!!! its funny and brightens your day.
Obidence is the Price
Faith is the Power
Love is the Motive
The Spirit is the Key
Christ is the Reason.
thats basically missionary work for yeah in the qoute.
also read DC 68:6
the scriptures are so good i saw a qoute that said
"Scriptures that are falling a part probably belong to someone who isnt."
pretty true huh?
Thanks for the emails they help more than you guys know you are the reason i am out here still and why i keep going everyday and get up and go talk to people so they can have the same joy our family has and have those blessings. so thanks so much and keep the letters coming please. i will send letters if i can i can only write on tuesday love you all more than you know and thanks for the support and stay strong.
Love always

October 12, 2010

Hey its been one week since i been out here. its been crazy but its been fun it seems like ive been out here forever but it has gone so fast! but at the same time so slow. My compaion is great hes from st George Elder Eames hes way nice and stuff and really really strict on the rules like exact obidence so its hard to get use to but im working on it. cause exact obidence is the key to having the spirit and if we dont have a the spirit all the way then its worthless to be out here.
We didnt teach any lesson last week. Yesterday was our first one i got to teach. it was fun. The ward here is great alot of in active or part memembers so we work alot with them. But we have a member cooking for us everynight! its awesome how they treat the missionarires here they just love us. its incredible.
Oh yeah im not in mission vejo im right next to it. its called Rancho Santa Margrita is the town and the city were in is Las Flores.its beautuful here the houses are nice and everyone is pretty nice not to many mean people yet.
We do ALOT of tracking its like all we do. so the days get long but there good im making the most of it. and working hard. We have like 5 investigators but non are progressing hopefully things will start to change. So we teach alot of Member lessons and stuff so we can still be teaching. Im getting along good with my compaion hes is a hard worker.
My foot has been bothering me alot i talked to the mission pres wife and shes talking to the MTC to see what happend about the insoles cause ive never gotten them. and i stretch and do the exersises Mellisa told me to do.  its fun though im learning so much!!! like how to live on my own and stuff and so much about the gospel and how to talk to people alot of life skills. Thanks for supporting me and allowing me to be out here! love you all

The MTC has been amazing and a good experience so far. I have 2 other roomates Elder Giles from Alabama and Elder Tippitts from Ogden. I really like Elder Tippitts I have a lot in common with him. For gym today we played sand volleyball. It was fun we played with our zone. I got picked to be temporary District Leader. But I think we get a real one tomorrow. We have a lot of classes starting at 7:30 am so we wake up at 6:00 am. It is really hard. The food here is great though. I am eating good and everything. I had to get a flu shot today and they charge you for it. I think it was like $24. How is everything back at home? We have a lot of time to ourselves so I will probably write everyday here. But we keep busy and when we don't thats when we get home sick. Write back soon!

I had my first day and it was amazing! We had orientation and mettings all day. It was really good. At night we got to teach the stake investigators, it was really cool to see what it would be like. My Companion is Elder Moffet. He is from Idaho and is like a Science guy and Ballroom Dancer. He is a really great guy. It's really wierd to be here actually but there is such a peace here I love it and I'm learning so much. All is going good and we have 4 people in our room including me. There's some wierd people in my district but some really cool people. It is a lot of fun.
